Student Workshop Series

The Student Workshop Series is one of a number of free, informal learning events available to students of the College of Information Studies. The series encourages the adoption of new and useful learning technologies and takes advantage of the rich knowledge base of skills and experience of our faculty, staff, students, and associates.

Each workshop is chosen, designed, and presented by a member of the iSchool community. Student presenters benefit from the teaching experience and are highlighted on the College of Information Studies’ website. Participants in the workshops gain hands-on experience in many new and useful tools relevant to their studies and careers in Library Science or Information Management.

Workshops are typically one to two hours in length, are held in the iSchool computer lab or other College meeting space, and are planned to accommodate the busy schedules of our graduate students.

Twice a year, the College Technology Office solicits applications to teach an iSchool Student workshop in the following semester. Applications submitted at other times are considered if scheduling permits.

Registration is required to participate in all workshops.  Some workshops may have pre-requisites which are included in the workshop description.  Current iSchool students are given priority for seating in the workshops.  Others from the College of Information Studies community may attend workshops when seats are available.
