Are you creative? Analytical? Have a knack for solving complex problems? Team up with your fellow Terps to compete in UMD's Data Challenge!
The University of Maryland College of Information Studies and the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation are hosting Data Challenge 2019, a week-long competition where students from the University of Maryland are charged with solving a complex problem by leveraging their analytical skills and creative ideas. As a participant you will solve an information problem based on a dataset of your choice from a sponsoring organization. There will be a competition where you will have the opportunity to present your findings, with a chance to win prizes. During the event days, you will network with company representatives, and listen to industry tech-talks.
Students across all majors and educational levels are encouraged to participate. You must be registered for the Spring 2019 semester as a student at the University of Maryland.
All participants must register as an individual before January 31, 2019, even if you have formed a team. Once you are registered individually, you will receive instructions on how to register your team in February 2019.
Not interested in participating, but would love to help out with Data Challenge 2019? Sign up to be a volunteer!
