Kate Vanderheiden joined the Trace Center in 1994 as Program Manager, coming to the iSchool when the Center transferred here in 2016. In her years at Trace, she has managed over $60 million in grants and contracts, including a series of multi-year Rehabilitation Engineering Center grants focused on research, development, training, commercial transfer, and system change. In addition to proposal management, financial administration, grant reporting, and overall Center support, Kate has provided leadership in the Trace Center’s training and outreach activities, as well as planning for pilot testing and sustainability of the Morphic software currently under development at Trace. Kate has a degree in business administration and is a CPA. Prior to joining the Trace Center, she had 5 years of experience as a financial auditor and training developer with an international public accounting firm, plus 3 years as Director of Internal Audit for a health care organization.
